Despite popular belief, maintaining good oral health is not expensive but negligence is.
In order to make it easier for you, we provide the following:
Snoring can be a warning sign for a very serious condition called sleep apnea.
During sleep apnea, the tongue collapses in the back of the throat, resulting in an airflow reduction of 80-100% for a period of at least 10 seconds. These 10 seconds are enough to drop the blood oxygen level by 3-4%.
The short term effects of sleep apnea are: daytime sleepiness, decreased attention and increased incidence of vehicle accidents. Health consequences are related to increased risk of diabetes, depression, hypertension, increased risk of both hear attack and stroke, atrial fibrillation, gastroesophageal reflux, neurocognitive impairment, mood disturbances, cognitive memory loss, obesity and hormonal imbalances.
Approximately 91% of all apnea patients snore, however not everyone who snores has sleep apnea. Snoring occurs in 40 to 50% of the general population. It is a sign indicating something is wrong with the airway and breathing during sleep.

Nitrous Oxide gas was previously referred to as laughing gas because of its euphoric effects.
The administration of nitrous gas is one of the safest and easiest sedations. At the end of the dental appointment, the effects can be quickly reversed and thus does not affect your driving or concentration. You can easily leave the office by yourself and even return to work. Nitrous Oxide is delivered through a mask placed on your nose. Once the mask is on, we recommend that you inhale and exhale deeply through your nose and not through your mouth. This will create a closed circuit necessary for an efficient delivery.
Ask us if you are a good candidate for Nitrous Oxide.
CMHA considers anxiety as a combination of biological, psychological, and other individual factors. Dental care for toddlers and infants
We understand that some of our patients do not like going to the dentist. A Canadian survey found that 49.2% of people with high anxiety had avoided dental treatment. Just as some people may perceive situations as being more dangerous than they actually are without any previous stimulus, others may have had a bad experience and fear that it might repeat itself.
Dental phobia is real and often times debilitating, leading to missed appointments and poor oral health.
Dentures are removable replacements made up of artificial teeth. They are used to fill the spaces created by the missing teeth. Dentures will enhance your aesthetic appearance by providing facial muscle support, they will help with chewing and normal speech, and they can prevent shifting in your remaining teeth. Based on each individual case, dentures can be created to fill the place of one or multiple missing teeth.
What can you do about loose dentures? Dental implants can be a great help to loose denture. Implants are artificial tooth roots that, once placed, will hold your dentures more firmly in place. Not everyone is a good candidate for dental implants, please ask us if they could be right for you.
Dental implants can be provided for patients who have lost their natural teeth due to decay, disease, or trauma. Dental implants can replace a single lost tooth, or multiple lost teeth by supporting bridges or dentures.
A dental implant is an artificial replacement for the natural tooth’s root. They are surgically placed into the jawbone and allowed to integrate for a period of 3 to 6 months. They are usually made up of titanium, and they come in various sizes depending on your bone topography.
When is the best time to talk to us about a dental implant? Before you extract the lost tooth. Any dental implant requires very good bone support. However, once the offending tooth is extracted the bone begins to resorb and the bone support is gradually, but surely, lost with time.
If your dentist knows that you would like to have an implant placed, there are certain precautions and steps to prevent as much bone loss as possible. And sometimes, the implant can even be placed in the same day as the extraction! This is surely the cheapest, the least invasive and the most predictable outcome.
Why should you consider braces? Straight teeth improve your smile, the way you feel and see yourself and they also have a positive impact on your oral health. Rotated and tipped teeth can accumulate more plaque and calculus, are more difficult to clean, are more prone to gum disease, and to developing cavities. However, properly aligned teeth are easier to brush and floss, thus less likely to suffer from gum disease, cavities, sensitivity!
Invisalign / ClearCorrect
Invisalign or other brands of Clear Aligners are a series of clear, custom-made, removable aligners designed to move teeth into their desired positions. The comfortable aligners are meant to be worn continually, except for when eating, brushing or flossing. Unlike conventional braces, the advantage of these aligners is that they may be removed, facilitating brushing and flossing, do not require any changes in diet and a minimal change in appearance.
